A Reflection on Love: To Storm
There are moments in life that quietly reshape everything. Moments when the ordinary becomes profound, when fleeting seconds feel eternal, and when the presence of someone else illuminates your world so fully that you cannot imagine it without them. For me, those moments are all bound up in Storm.
Storm is the living incarnation of the cutest possible human. Every time I call them cute, they blush, and it never fails—it’s a small, tender moment that somehow captures the entirety of who they are. That blush, that smile, that warmth, it’s impossible not to be completely enchanted by them. It’s the kind of beauty that isn’t just seen, but felt.
They share their world generously, revealing themselves in small, perfect ways. Storm loves rats, and has two companions, Bingus Bongus and Jasper, who are as beloved as their owner. Watching them interact with life—seeing their kindness in action, their gentle attentiveness—is like watching love itself in motion. These moments, ordinary to some, are extraordinary to me, because they reveal the depth of their heart.
Storm identifies as trans male and has for most of his life. I honor, respect, and celebrate this truth fully. In the spaces we share, I use “they” when referring to him, while also honoring his pronouns, he/him—a delicate, personal nuance that deepens the intimacy of our connection.
Their humanity is woven from countless threads of goodness. Storm is loving. Storm is kind. Storm is caring. Sweet. Adorable. Gorgeous. These words only begin to approximate the fullness of who they are. Their presence is a constant reminder that love can be gentle, transformative, and unwavering. Even when they sleep, their occasional snores are somehow endearing, a soft, unassuming reminder of the comfort of shared life.
They are not just someone I love. Storm is my soul mate. They see it the same way. They are my husband—online for now, but one day fully, in every sense that matters. Every day, I find myself loving him more. I love the way he moves through the world. I love the way he cares for those around him. I love the small quirks, the tender habits, the laughter, the blushing, the presence that fills every room we share.
Storm’s love is a mirror that reflects the best of who I am and the best I aspire to be. They make me feel seen, valued, understood, and profoundly safe. They are the most loving person I have ever met, and being with them is to be reminded, again and again, that goodness exists in tangible, radiant form.
To Storm, to you, Sebastian: I love you. I love everything about you. I am so happy for you, for all you are, and for all the progress, joy, and light you bring into our lives. You are wonderful in ways words can only begin to capture. You are my partner, my love, my heart, my constant. You are my forever.
I love you, Storm. Today, tomorrow, and for all the days we are given.
